Sorry sub today....I have hurt my back.
5th honors Chemistry
They need to do the lab that is on the back table. I have asked that Mr. Stevens to the North come in and help them with this. My gas will need to be turned on. They can do this lab as a lab table. Each side doing two kinds of the metal and then sharing the information. Basically this is how the lab goes. The students need to weigh each of the metals. Put the metals into water and heat them till boiling. "Tare" out styrofoam cup on the scale and then fill it 1/2 full with water and weigh. Place this into the large beaker. Then they will need to start up the program Easy data under the apps program on the computer. Remind them that they will need to take the temperature of the boiling water with one thermometer and the temperature of the cool water before transferring the metal to the cool water. Then they need to stir the water and take the highest temperature after. Then repeat this for the next metal. When their side is done with both metals, turn off the gas. Sit down with a computer for their group and bring up the power point Enthalpy and Hess' law under honors chemistry power points on my web site go through the whole thing as a group.

We will correct the assignments next time. Have them check there calendar for the assignment due next time.
6th and 7th are regular chemistry - 6th peer tutor is Ashton and he can help with the lab. Same as above except for the power point go to...regular chemistry and bring up the same power point.
